Self-fertile large-fruited, yellow-fleshed peach with excellent taste properties. Resistance to leaf curl and fruit monilia, the very high yield and fruit quality make Jayhaven particularly interesting for private gardens and organic cultivation.

Crossing: SH333 [Redhaven × SH1171 (Halehaven O.P.)] × SH348 (Ambergem OP), selected in 1965 by Stanley Johnston
Vigour: very strong, healthy, canopy half upright
Blossom: rich, self-fertile
Fruits: large, average weight 250 - 300 g, spherical fruit shape, high fruit quality, easy to store and transport
Fruit color: 80% red blush over golden yellow basic color
Pulp: yellow, firm, freestone
Taste: excellent, highly valued, aromatic
Harvest season: late July / early August
Yield: brings very high and regular yields
Disease resistance: variety is resistant to leaf curl disease (Taphrina deformans) and brown rot of stone fruit (Monilinia laxa), tolerant of bacterial spot. Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
